Local Paddles (some)

There are lots of locations to paddle in the surrounding area, mostly flat sheltered water with elements of Grade 1/2 and plenty of coastal areas.
Things to think about:
  • plan your trips (have a float plan and share it)
  • check river levels and tides
  • be aware of the effect the weather will have (hot and cold) and that the weather changes
  • know your own capabilities and that of your group
  • have a contingency plan
  • let someone off the water know where you're going and when you'll be back
  • spare clothes and food and drink are a must
  • remember the rule of three

There are many more places to paddle. Be safe and have fun.
